The Balm in Gilead works through Black churches to stop the spread
of HIV/AIDS in the African American community and to support those infected with, and affected by, HIV/AIDS. The Balm in Gilead
They provide churches, public agencies and community organizations with training, networking and education. It organizes the
Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS awareness program aimed at Black Americans. For technical assistance with

A number of national and global observances are held annually
to help us understand and fight the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Department of Health and Human Services is using all of its resources
to combat the disease, and one way it is doing so is by supporting these observances, which help raise awareness and spread

National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) is an annual campaign produced
by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive voluntary HIV counseling
and testing. NAPWA distributes campaign kits to community groups and health departments of all sizes to help create NHTD campaigns
and events targeting their local communities. Founded in 1983, the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) is
the oldest coalition of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world and the oldest U.S. national AIDS organization. For more

W.O.M.E.N. is a community-based organization founded and run
by an HIV-positive African-American woman. Because of her experiences living with HIV, we take a holistic, individualized
approach to the care and treatment of our clients. We are dedicated to serving the entire person, with services that range
from client advocacy to counseling and nutritional advice. W.O.M.E.N.
Our goal is to provide women with the tools for empowerment to face life’s trials. This website will provide vital information

The history of the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD)
dates back to 1999. NBHAAD’s seeks to get individuals tested, educated, and involved in HIV prevention activities. The National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
The CCBC assisted with leadership development of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs),established and linked networks, built
community prevention infrastructure, promoted technical assistance among CBOs and raised awareness of African-American communities.
