Evangelist Joyce Cox

Elect Lady Evangelist Joyce Burton Cox is a native of Hammond, Louisiana. She is the daughter of the late Johnny
Burton and Marion F. Burton, who resides in Hammond. Evangelist Cox grew up in Macedonia Baptist Church. She later
became saved and moved to Straightway Church of GOD in Christ where she attended for 17 years. During this time, she
grew stronger in the Lord. She has been a Missionary for about 10 years. When she married Pastor Anthony Cox in
1996, she had no intension of becoming a Pastor's wife. She prayed to GOD for a preacher to be sent into her life, but didn't
realize at the time what she was asking for. However, GOD has certainly prepared her for the mission at hand. She established an Outreach
Ministry for hurting women in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail over 15 years ago. Evangelist Cox also visits hospitals, nursing
homes, the "projects", and member's homes. She has also been a Missionary Evangelist for about 15 years now.
In addition, she is the mother of 4 sons and 1 daughter. She is faithfully working side-by-side with her husband and
has been in the Westside Church of God in Christ for 5 years. Evangelist Cox is the Founder and President of the Life
Giving Community Development Center. She also plays a vital role in the establishment of the Hurting Women Ministry;
Tutoring and Academic Support Ministry/Abused Children Ministry; Our Daily Bread Food Pantry; Prison Ministry; and Hit the
Street Ministry.
